Midterm exams will be here before you know it. The midterms in 2-D Art and Drawing classes are centered around our annual school Art show which takes place in April at the beach side Marriott.
Part one of the exam will be to create an art auction piece and students will be given time in class to do so. Part two is to decorate a project board for the show. On exam day students present and critique these.
At this time students should be looking for a three fold project board to decorate for the mid-term. Attendance at the Art show is expected and graded. The annual Art show is a great way to showcase many talents of our Key West High School students!
I am attaching a copy of the paper I will be sending home with your child for your review. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.
Also, we are still accepting donations of lysol and clorox wipes :) Thanks so much for all you do!

I am so happy to be teaching Drawing and Painting this year. The first semester of this course is all about drawing. We revisit the Elements and Principles and delve deeper into the fundamentals of drawing. We will be thoroughly examining lines of all types, working with proportion, still life and portraiture drawing as well as exploring various types of drawing media. The second semester of this course focuses on color theory and painting techniques and skills.
A copy of the course syllabus can be found below. The grading scale in this course is as follows:
